Our good copies are artefacts which have been made on the continent Africa recently over the last 2 decades. The people in different parts of the continent are using them in their daily life for different occasions.
Authentic Pieces
The authentic pieces are the artefacts which have been created and used up till 5 decades. They are old and original which also means they can show wear and tear. Some are having a beautiful patina due to frequent use of them during ceremonies.
Collectors Pieces
The collector pieces are the truly old pieces. They can be called antiques as they are over 50 years of age. Some of the pieces are over a 100 years which means they have been used by different generations. You will find cracks and patina on these pieces.
Carvings
All carvings on this webshop are handmade creations made by P. Madzungu from Zimbabwe. Most of them are made of hard wood pieces found in the bushveld. They are all made with hammer and chisel. No electric carving tools were used to create the skinning or the facial expressions of the animals.
Textiles
African textiles are made of bark of trees, raffia and bush tree cotton. Different African regions have a variety of textiles depending on the ethnic groups of the area. They come in different sizes, softness and texture. Tribes wear these textiles during the day and at night they are being used as blankets.
